The 3rd Texas State International Piano Festival was again an overwhelming successes! We have hosted students and auditors from all over the world, including China, Ecuador, Chile, Paraguay, Brasil, South Korea, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatamala, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia and The United States. We also saw the addition of a Collegiate Division, which also turned out to be a huge success.
We all had one of the most wonderful musical experiences of our lives, which was demonstrated not only by the artistic growth each one of the participants experienced in such a short time, but also by the strong emotions that each other shared at the end of the week. Strong friendships were developed. In fact, some participants already visited each other abroad. Drs. Garcia and Kwak are already busy preparing for the 4th Festival, which will be held on June 1 -9, 2013. Professors Martin, Slutsky, and Lomazov have all confirmed their return in 2013. We are equally proud to announce the addition of Professor Anton Nel from the University of Texas to our Faculty. Further, we are delighted to host the famed show From the Top with host Christopher O'Riley from our festival. We are anticipating the biggest festival yet.
