NOTE: Students who reach less than 70% on the music theory placement test will take MU5357 Graduate Music Theory and Musicianship in addition to the degree requirements listed below.
Prerequisites: Undergraduate Diction as well as one modern language (German, Italian, or French). If those courses were not part of the undergraduate program, students must fulfill the prerequisite requirements by the end of their Master’s studies. (Language proficiency equivalent to 2 years of Italian, German, or French in High School OR the first two semesters [1410 & 1420] of Italian, German, or French at the college level.)

- MU5350 Musical Styles
- 8 credits of Applied Voice
- MUSP 5101 Graduate Recital
- 3 credits of Opera Workshop
NOTE: The smaller number of credits is the minimum number of credits a student must take in that specific category.
