The competition is open to students in grades 3 thru 12. The competition will be limited to the first 125 registrants.
Entrants are placed in categories based on their grade. If a division is unusially large, the coordinators reserve the right to split the division.
Performance requirements are as follows:
Category: Length of Performance
Grades 3 and 4: 8 minutes Grades 9 and 10: 12 minutes
Grades 5 and 6: 10 minutes Grades 11 and 12: 12 minutes
Grades 7 and 8: 10 minutes
Music Scores: Contestants should provide a copy of the music for the judge with measures numbered. No photo copies will be allowed.
Musical Selections: All musical selections in the contest must be original solo compositions for the piano. No arrangements will be allowed.
Two memorized pieces of contrasting styles are required. Please indicate the exact timing of the performance on the application form. If the length of the performance exceeds the indicated time, the judge has the option to stop the performance.
