Dr. Enrico Elisi – The Eastman School of Music

Enrico Elisi's interpretations have distinguished themselves for their "remarkable sensitivity, imagination and polish" (Baltimore Sun) and his approach to music making has earned him a reputation for being eclectic. He has performed solo recitals and has been featured as soloist with several orchestras in the US and abroad, combining a busy concert schedule with workshops and master classesworldwide. A sought-after teacher Elisi leads a large class of successful international students at the Eastman School of Music. As an active chamber musician, he collaborates with former leader of I Musici, Federico Agostini. Elisi is a frequent guest at several summer programs such as Amalfi, Associazione Umbria Classica, Grumo (Italy), Texas State, Chautauqua Institution, Art of Piano, and Montecito (USA); he has also adjudicated a number of piano competitions (Tremplin international, Concours de musique du Canada, Iowa Piano Competition, Peabody Yale Gordon and Julia Crane).

Elisi has appeared in prestigious venues such as La Fenice Theatre, Venice; Palazzo Vecchio, Florence; Bibbiena Theatre, Mantua; Pavarotti Opera House, Modena; Teatro Comunale and Sala Bossi, Bologna (Italy). He has also given recitals in France, Germany, Slovak Republic, and Spain. Recent performances in the Americas included recitals at the Banff Centre for the Arts (Canada), Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, the New York Public Library, and the Third Contemporary Music Festival, in Lima, Peru where he will return to premiere a new concerto written for him at the GranTeatro Nacional with the Orchestra Sinfónica Nacional. He also performed in Korea, Taiwan, and China and has given master classes, workshops, and lectures at colleges and conservatories throughout the world, including the University of Michigan; University of British Columbia, Canada; National Conservatory of Lima, Peru; Accademia delle Marche, Italy; Taipei National University of the Arts, Taiwan; Shanghai Conservatory, China; Academy of Performing Arts, Hong Kong; Yong Siew Toh Conservatory, Singapore; Jakarta Conservatory, Indonesia; Seoul National University, Korea.

Elisi studied at the Conservatory of Florence, the world-renowned Incontri col Maestro International Piano Academy of Imola (Italy) and the Peabody Institute. His principal teachers have been Leon Fleisher, Lazar Berman, Alexander Lonquich, Franco Scala and Boris Petrushansky.
