Lucy Bloor is the Assistant to the Director and Academic Advisor for the School of Music at Texas State University. She holds a Master of Music Education degree with an emphasis in Conducting from Texas State University.
She began her professional career teaching choir and music theory at Kingwood High School. After three years, she moved back to central Texas. In 2000, Lucy joined the staff at Texas State as the advisor for undergraduate music majors. Since that time, she has led the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee in the development of music programs, assisted in increasing the student retention rate, and presented new student orientations to almost 1,000 new Bobcats.
Lucy also advises Mu Phi Epsilon, the music honors fraternity, and the Interfraternal Music Council at Texas State. She is a member of the Texas Music Educators' Association and the National Academic Advising Association.
From 2001 to 2007, Lucy was the choir director at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. While working with Frances Webb, the choir performed works including Haydn's "Little Organ Mass," Rutter's "Requiem," and Schubert's "Mass in G."
