
Dr. Timothy Woolsey holds a Bachelor of Arts from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, Master of Music in Piano Performance, and Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Woolsey has taught at Texas State since 1975 and has presented well more than 100 performances and master classes at such prominent venues as the Phillips Collection.the National Gallery of Art,and at Texas Music Teachers Association (TMTA) conventions. He has presented faculty solo recitals every year at Texas State and taught at the Piano Texas Institute in Forth Worth three times. His students have wontop prizes in major competitions, including first prize at a TMTA convention. Former students are employed at various schools of music in Texas and Hong Kong.
Dr. Woolsey is a frequent performer at Hong Kong Baptist College, where he has been successful in recruiting graduate students to enroll at Texas State. During his 14 visits there, he taught Advanced Piano Pedagogy to graduate students.
An avis art collector, Dr. Woolsey's collection was sought by the Blanton Museum. However, he donated his collection to Texa State. He makes annual donations to the Department of Art andDesign toward building a permanent collection.
