Rodney C. Schueller
Rodney C. Schueller is Associate Professor of Music at Texas State University-San Marcos. He teaches courses in music education, conducting and theory during the 2011-2012 academic year. He served as Director of Bands and Coordinator of Instrumental Performance and Ensembles at Texas State from 2003-2011.
Ensembles under his leadership have received praise from composers Steven Bryant, Mark Camphouse, Donald Grantham, John Mackey, Timothy Mahr, Jonathan Newman, Wayne Oquin, Jack Stamp, and Frank Ticheli among others. The Texas State University Wind Ensemble performed for both the Texas Music Educators Association Clinic and Convention and the College Band Directors National Association National Conference in the spring semester of 2011.
Dr. Schueller is a contributing author to six volumes in the Teaching Music Through Performance in Band series published by GIA and has published articles in the Bandmasters Review, The Instrumentalist and MBM Times. He co-presented clinic sessions at the 2005 Texas Bandmasters Association Clinic and Convention and the 2007 Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic.
